JOE GRAHAM

I have had professional productions at venues such as The Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, (SHERBET LEMON, BEST MAN FALLER, SPARE PRICK, ACTUALLY MOVING) directed by Sue Colverd and Jo Bousefield; Bristol Old Vic (JOINED AT THE HIP), directed by Joyce Branagh.

Joyce Branagh also commissioned me to write two new pantomimes for Watford Palace Theatre (CINDERELLA, ALADDIN). In 2011 my musical comedy ‘RHINESTONE MONDAYS’ undertook a Number 1 theatre tour around the UK starring Shaun Williamson (Eastenders, Extras, Life’s Too Short). My play ORANGES ON THE BRAIN was produced by Delirium Theatre at the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford and at the Courtyard Theatre, London in 2012. MY play THE GOLDFISH BOWL, written in workshop with a group of secondary school students for Sixth Sense Theatre Company toured over 40 schools.

I also works with my own theatre company, Balancing Act to produce my own work locally in Oxford, directing DANCING TO THE SOUND OF CRUNCHING SNAILS, A FISTFUL OF MONDAYS (to become RHINESTONE MONDAYS), FUN RUN and SPARE PRICK at the OFS Studio in Oxford. I wrote and produced the family comedy musicals QUASIMODO AGOGO, produced in 2015; SINBAD AND THE VOYAGE OF THE SEVEN SOULS; WHO’S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF and PETER PAN AND THE FOUNTAIN OF ETERNAL YOUTH, with brother Jim Graham writing the score.

I wrote and performed a short piece I GET THAT A LOT at the Chipping Norton Theatre as part of PAINES PLOUGH’s COME TO WHERE I’M FROM initiative.

Along with this my first book, I also more recently, turned my writing skills to screenplays and am looking to progress that side of my work in the future with some scripts in development.
