Barry DeLisser is a certified over-thinker and author. He is a leading authority on the perils of over-analysis and reaching faulty conclusions. He is currently pursuing distinctions in humility and benevolence.
Excerpt from the book's Introduction:
I’m told that when I was about three or four years old, I learned a lesson that has been teaching ever since. As the story goes, I was playing in a sandbox (about 6x8, I’d guess) bare-foot in the middle of the Summer sun. As I ran around inside the sandbox screaming, “Daddy, sun hot! Sun hot!” my father calmly watched me do laps, only slightly bemused, before saying seven life-giving words: “Well, get out of the box, then.”
...Thinking things through has been a veritable humiliation-saving secret weapon for me. Over the years I became quite the over-thinker. So much so, in fact, that a friend once told me in the face of my endless questions, “Barry, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Nothing more.”
