When we lose the powerful connection that exists between ourselves and our environment due to the stressors of life, Armando Hart believes that we can incorporate powerful change by moving our bodies with a deeper sense of freedom and joy, as we once did as a child.
After suffering a traumatic leg injury in 1996 that kept him sidelined at the Atlanta Olympic Games, Armando created a new training philosophy: The Hart Method. Armando’s road to recovery made him aware of the connection between physical movement, environment, and life. The Hart Method of training maximizes this connection on all those levels. Now a world-class trainer, speaker, and mentor, Armando focuses on removing layers of social conditioning using movement. He works with professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and people at all fitness levels.
Armando grew up in Long Beach, California as a first generation Mexican-American, living in a low-income and high-crime environment. He became immersed in the mysterious and unique world of underground foot racing as an eleven-year-old boy. Armando had a taste of success and experienced the joy of running in this world, but he was continually challenged to find his own truth. He continued his underground running ventures until his early thirties. During this time, he was also involved in organized and sanctioned competitions—where he broke records as a sprinter—in races for the nation of Mexico, and while attending Cal State Long Beach.
Armando attributes the physical skills he possesses to the power of visualization in harmony with body movement. Although his Olympic dream was cut short, he believes that his dream of being a proponent of personal and world change is being actualized by once again embodying the maxims of his training system, The Hart Method.
Although his big vision is to bring joy and powerful change to the world, Armando believes that the change in the individual is much more effective in bringing forth world harmony. He believes we all have the ability and tools within us to make powerful change in our lives in spite of the challenges that surround us. They are available to us every morning upon awakening. He believes that true and powerful change starts with our body, our breath, our thought, and movement.
