Thomas Croft writes historical fiction for adults and older children. He lives close to the site of the Battle of Hastings and has an interest in local history. He is particularly interested in the ways in which fiction and the development of fictional character can illuminate and invigorate our understanding of history. His writing attempts to make historical events and ideas accessible but he also wants to present his readers with intelligent demands and challenges. Above all, he wants to tell a good story.
