Don Lawrence was born in 1955 in Elyria, Ohio. He is one of eight children. At age six, Don’s family moved to southern California. At age twelve, they moved to Arizona. Don received his Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Arts Degree from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, CA. He was ordained into the ministry in 1978.
In 1984, Don became the founding Pastor at Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills, Arizona, where he served until his retirement in 2017. Don is a past president of the Arizona Christian Convention. He is also a past member of the Arizona Legislative Chaplaincy Board and the Return Hope International Mission Board.
Don served on the Fountain Hills Town Council for five years, including one term as Vice Mayor. His many other community activities earned him the honor of being voted one of the Twenty Outstanding Volunteers in Fountain Hills, as well as being inducted into the Fountain Hills Hall of Fame.
Don is a recipient of the Hope International Outstanding Alumni Service Award, presented by Pacific Christian College/ Hope International University. He is also the 2007 recipient of the Family Life Radio Outstanding Pastor Award. He has taken mission trips to South America, Africa, Austria, The Dominican Republic, Alaska and Mexico.
Don and his wife, Lisa, have been married since 1980. They have two daughters, Andrea and Michelle, and two grandsons, Caleb and Jacob.
Don enjoys reading and writing, fishing, golfing, and travel. He has visited approximately twenty-five countries around the world.
