Iris Efthymiou-Egleton

Dr Iris serves on the boards of and is associated with several organisations involved in deciphering the activities of humanity. She bridges the gap between technology and humanity, ensuring ethical implementation, user-centric design, and a positive impact on human well-being. Iris is a Behavioural Health Economist, Author, Speaker, and Lecturer at the University of Greenwich and the University of East London, Chief Editor of the Journal of Politics and Ethics in New Technologies and AI and Researcher at LabHEM-University of Piraeus.

She had worked as a college director and created her own Public Affairs business. She worked with politicians, ambassadors, entrepreneurs, academics, and journalists, and spoken at the UN Headquarters in Geneva. In recent years, as her priorities changed for various family reasons, she has focused more on publishing several papers and written 19 books. Her breadth of knowledge and research-based approach give her an ability to analyze some of the significant issues facing humanity in a fast-changing world, whilst her ability to speak in simple, understandable English ('Globeish') allows her to communicate with a vast audience.

She studied Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and earned her ‘Masters’ in Health Economics and Management, and PhD, in Behavioural Health Economics, at the University of Piraeus, Together with the continual updating necessary for her business career, she has continued to maintain and widen her knowledge base by undertaking numerous external studies at various institutions including: The Karolinska Institute, Harvardx, and MITx.

Her breadth of knowledge and research-based approach give her an ability to analyse some of the major issues facing humanity in a fast changing world. Iris believes in equal opportunities, uniqueness, and the normality of imperfection!
