John "Red" Cummings

The author spent his early career as a bank marketing officer. He then headed up the United Way where he also was the writer of the annual report, publicity and fund raising proposals and advertising pieces.

In 2011, he wrote his first historical book about the industrial development in the community: "From Little Acorns to Giant Oaks". That initial effort was followed by four more historical works: "The Last Fling- Hurricane Carol 1954"; "Cream of The Crop-Fall River's Best and Brightest"; "Lobstah Tales"- a history of the Moby Dick/Back Eddy Restaurant in Westport and concluding with "Murder, Manslaughter, Mayhem in the SouthCoast Volume 1" from 1832 through 1969. Volume 2 of the same titled book featuring murders beginning in 1970 to 2000 is now available through Amazon and at local gift shops and book stores .

"The Last fling" was honored at the New England Book Festival and the at Beach Book Festival. "Cream of the Crop" was taught in a high school history class in Fall River. All books are for sale here at Amazon.
