Neelama Eyres

Neelama has worked in the field of personal transformation since 1995. Her background includes a B.A. in Comparative Religion, leading meditation and yoga retreats, facilitating seminars and trainings, counseling homeless women, teaching meditation classes for children, and coaching adults. Being brought up in both the Catholic and Jewish traditions instilled Neelama with the ability to bridge the gaps that divide people. After her academic studies, she took a yearlong sabbatical to study mediation, yoga, and heart-based spiritual practices with prominent teachers at monasteries and ashrams throughout Southeast Asia and India. It has been her life’s work to help others cultivate compassion in the face of conflict.

Since 1998, Neelama has designed and facilitated hundreds of workshops and retreats, helping thousands of people worldwide in their quest for personal growth and spiritual development. She co-founded the Inner Journey Institute with Michael Schiesser in 1999, and most of the workshops she has developed are run through this institute. In 2002, together with Michael, she created Journey into Love: a seminar focused on conflict resolution for couples that are married, separated, or divorced. Together, they have developed a set of tools, exercises, and strategies for facilitating conflicts that arise in the domain of relationship. This workshop has been offered successfully in the US, Canada, and Europe for 15 years.

Neelama has been a guest teacher and lecturer for the Inspiring Women’s Summit, hosted by The Shift Network: a virtual community comprised of some 525,000 global members. In addition to running a business and raising a son with special needs, Neelama travels regularly to India to attend trainings that support her own personal and professional development.
