Dr Thomas-Gabriel Rüdiger is head of the Institute for Cybercriminology at the Brandenburg Police University. As a representative of the field of cybercriminology, his research interests lie in particular in digital crimes and interaction risks of social media, digital policing as well as the understanding of norm developments and control in the digital space. Other focal points are media risks for kids and the development of digital crimes as well as the importance of media education for the area of digital crime prevention.
In 2013, he was awarded the first European Future Prize in Policing for his research on the commission of criminal acts in virtual worlds.
