Janet Stead

Janet grew up in Ontario’s cottage country.

She studied languages at McMaster University. As much as she loved French in particular, she wasn't very good at it, so her professor recommended that Janet move to France if she really wanted to learn the language - so she did. There, she worked as an au pair. It was while living there that Janet really cultivated her love of languages and where she had her first experience with computers - and so decided to attend college to study computer programming upon my return to Canada. (Janet built a cardboard computer when she was young; her parents would shove a penny through the payment slot - along with a math question - and the "computer" would spit out the answer).

After graduating as a computer programmer/analyst, Janet started up a corporate software training company; which she ran for over 30 years. After so many years of public speaking, she segued her experience into a career as a voiceover artist.

She started this first novel, Breach, in 2016, after years of holding her imagination in check. Her next book, Deadly Habit, is in the works and she has outlines for Book #3 and #4 in a drawer.

Janet now does her writing in her studio on an island in Georgian Bay, Ontario where she lives with her husband.
