David Childers, 1950-Present, grew to young adulthood in Northeast Indiana, where he received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Purdue University. After which he relocated to Long Island, New York with his wife Dawn. David worked different retail positions while earning his degree at Purdue and continued in the retail field while attending C. W. Post University graduate school, majoring in Criminal Justice. David's retail career on Long Island and commuting to New York City, managing many different retail shoe stores, gave him a "Master's Degree" in Life. Eventually, David and his family moved to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Thirty years in New England working for a private retail shoe company as district manager and buyer further added to the tales of his experiences. The theme of his book, Retail: The Other Side of the Counter, is to enlighten the reader to the people who are serving them and watching the behavior of both sides. This book is written with humor, hoping the customer will better appreciate the person serving them and maybe, just maybe, recognize the other person's worth. Remember, the retailer is watching!
