Naheed Elyasi

Naheed Elyasi is a globetrotting marketing executive, author and shamanic practitioner. Afghan born and southern raised, Naheed considers herself a global citizen while calling New York City home.

Naheed was a contributing writer for Zeba Magazine, the first lifestyle Magazine for the over 300,000 Afghan Diaspora in the United States. Her writings are published in One Story, Thirty Stories: An Anthology of Contemporary Afghan American Literature, and Love Inshallah: The Secret Love Lives of Muslim Women. She recently published her first novel, Cupcakes and Condoms, and is currently working on a poetry chapbook.

She’s also served on the guidance team for the Moral Courage Project, led by Irshad Manji, which educates young people to challenge intellectual conformity, based at New York University's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service.
