Michael Catherwood’s first book was Dare, published by The Backwaters Press. Main Street Rag published his second book, If You Turned Around Quickly. His third book, Projector, is from Stephen F. Austin University Press. Near Misses was published by WSC Press in 2023. He also was co-editor with Cat Dixon on Watching the Perseids from The Backwaters Press. His poems, reviews, and essays have recently appeared in Bluestem, Louisiana Literature, Kentucky Review, Measure, the minnesota review, New Plains Review, Portland Review, The Common, Red River Review, Galway Review, and Westview. He’s been an associate editor at Plainsongs since 1995, where he writes essays. He is a former editor at The Backwaters Press. He’s a cancer survivor and lives in Omaha with his wife, Cindy.
