R.J. MINNICK has spent a lifetime working at various jobs (she even sold Fuller Brush!) and another lifetime raising six terrific offspring with her husband.
During both those lifetimes she kept writing – poetry, reviews, short stories, nonfiction, mysteries, mainstream novels, and Christmas epics. She has credentials in national and local magazines and community news publications.
Her Mackenzie Wilder/Classic Boat romantic mystery series was inspired by the beautiful antique boats in the Thousand Islands. Her husband introduced her to the Antique Boat Show held each year in Clayton, New York early in their relationship. The mystique surrounding these wooden boats captivated R.J., and her love of solving puzzles drove the rest. With three books in the series, she is beginning background work on the fourth, tentatively titled, Married in the Mourning.
Her novel Remainder is set in Middle Tennessee where she and her family lived for 24 years. It deals with change, and with how a community survives when assailed on multiple fronts at once. This past year her writer's group produced an anthology, The Mayor's Tales: stories from the Kyleighburn Archives. RJ was both contributor and editor for this inaugural compilation. Another anthology is planned for this year.
Today R.J. Minnick lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina with her husband, two dogs, four cats and – from time to time – a child or two.
