Emma Dalton-Brown

Jamaican born Emma Dalton-Brown lives with her husband and two sons in Kingston, Jamaica and has been a writer since 2006. She is currently a regular contributor for Our Jamaica and MACO Caribbean Living magazines, and writes a blog on www.serveyouwrite.wordpress.com. She has published her first novel "IGNORANCE IS BLISS" on Amazon Kindle and is currently working on her second book. Previously, Emma wrote extensively for the two main national newspapers of her island, the Jamaica Observer and the Daily Gleaner, as well as Made in Jamaica Catalogue.

Emma holds a BA in Philosophy from the London School of Economics, a Diploma from the Leith’s School of Food & Wine in London and a Certificate in Journalism from the School of Continuing & Professional Studies, New York University. Emma started out by working in London for five years as a freelance chef and regularly appeared on a live television cooking show called Good Food Live (later renamed Great Food Live). She also wrote recipes for BBC Good Food and Best magazines.

While the novels, which she has been writing, are works of fiction, Emma focuses on real-life situations that particularly deal with women's issues and rights. She has recently completed Advocacy Training with the Tambourine Army in Jamaica and uses social media as a platform to promote better treatment of women and children when it comes to sexual harassment, abuse and assault.
