Tammy Osheim

Tammy is a school counselor and licensed social worker. For over 20 years she has worked as an elementary school counselor. Prior to that she worked as a children's counselor in a crisis shelter for domestic violence and child abuse.

Her other passion has been with animals, especially horses. Her lifetime love for all animals has included the rescue of many dogs, cats and horses. It all started when her mother won a pony in a contest. All of her animals are part of the family and have a forever home at her place called Great Plains Magic.

Her interest in writing books began when she noticed that the animals at home and the students at school often had similar problems. Tammy's love of horses and her work with children as a school counselor brought these stories to life. The books that are published so far in the Great Plains Magic series include "Dreamin Feels Afraid: A Horse Tale", Melody: A Tale of a Show Horse, and "A Horse Tale of Friendship". More stories are coming from the animals of Great Plains Magic.
