John Clark

John Clark (b. 1968) is a New England native who currently makes his home in Norwood, Massachusetts. As an academic he has an M.A. from the University of Maryland and a doctorate from Brandeis University - both in musicology. He teaches music history and theory as an adjunct at Connecticut College (his alma mater), Northeastern University and MassBay Community College. As a performer he has been playing in various jazz groups in New England since the early 1990's, including the Paramount Jazz Band of Boston, Dan Gabel's Abeltones, High Society Orchestra, the Back Bay Ramblers, the Swing Legacy, and Billy Novick's Blue Syncopators as well as his own Wolverine Jazz Band. He maintains a busy performing schedule in the Boston area as well as in festivals around the country. When not teaching or performing he enjoys reading, hiking, music, family and friends.
