Heather Vescent is a futurist, primarily known as an expert in cyber economics and cryptocurrency. Her far-reaching research, published by the New York Times, CNN, American Banker, CNBC, Fox, and the Atlantic, explores trends in the future of money, economies, identity, wearable tech, relationships, augmented intelligence, IoT, cybersecurity, and humanity.

For more than a decade, her company (The Purple Tornado) has produced media visualizing the future in the present tense, including 10 short films and documentaries about the future and more than 30 podcasts on money, wearable tech, and autonomous driving cars. Her short film “Fly Me to the Moon,” showcasing her vision of future payments, was nominated for a Most Important Futures Award by the Association of Professional Futurists.
