Cory M. Compton

I was born and raised near the town of Cheboygan in northern Michigan. I grew up in a very traditional, conservative, Christian household with two parents and an older brother. Since my early days in high school, being politically active and involved flourished into one of my most intensive past-times. None of my family were involved in politics, but that was my passion. The way I see it, being involved in politics equates to being involved with your life, because the decisions that politicians on the local, state, and federal level make impact each and every one of our lives; economically, in terms of available opportunities and job availability, and in terms of our general quality of life and discretionary income rates. An investment in politics is an investment in one's own future.

I first got officially politically involved during my freshman year in high school by joining and working with the local Cheboygan Republican Party. My levels of involvement with the party grew, and soon I was one of the most active members in the party (As well as the youngest). This eventually lead to the creation of a teenage Republican group. The first attempt quickly failed as we didn't know what to do, but fairly recently another attempt was made, and this one was far more successful due to the help of an adult adviser. We established the first official Teenage Republican groups in Michigan, and as of now we are over 20 members strong.

Besides that, I became involved with several local and state GOP campaigns, and later I was involved with Donald Trump's campaign and helped knock on over 200 doors. I also assist the Michigan GOP's youth efforts by being a member of a youth subcommittee that is responsible for the creation of young Republican groups across the state.

I am apologetically a conservative, and I am confident that solutions in creating a prosperous nation can be found within that philosophy.

Besides politics, I also highly enjoy being in the outdoors in terms of hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, swimming, and boating. Photography, Photoshop, and Video editing are also activities that I enjoy.
