Devon Coombs

Devon Coombs, CPA, MBA, is a finance educator, consultant, and former Google Cloud accounting leader who helps professionals and students understand finance in practical, life-changing ways. After overcoming homelessness in early adulthood, Devon built a career across public accounting, IPO consulting, technical accounting, and finance leadership before moving into teaching and entrepreneurship.

He is a Teaching Professor of Finance and Real Estate Faculty Director at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business, where he teaches real estate finance, investments, and applied business concepts. Devon also advises companies on revenue accounting, AI-enabled finance transformation, and strategic decision-making.

He is the author of The 10 Laws of Finance: A Real-World Education in Money, Business, and Freedom. His writing focuses on making finance and business concepts clear, useful, and human, connecting technical concepts to career growth, leadership, personal resilience, and long-term wealth building. He also publishes free interactive finance courses, calculators, and frameworks on his website, the Devon Coombs Academy. Devon lives in San Jose, California, with his wife and daughter.
