Devon Coombs

Devon Coombs, CPA, MBA, is a finance educator, consultant, and former Google Cloud accounting leader who helps professionals and students understand finance in practical, life-changing ways. After overcoming homelessness in early adulthood, Devon built a career across public accounting, IPO consulting, technical accounting, and finance leadership before moving into teaching and entrepreneurship.

He is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Finance at Santa Clara University, where he teaches real estate finance, investments, and applied business concepts. Devon also advises companies on revenue accounting, AI-enabled finance transformation, and strategic decision-making.

His writing focuses on making finance and business concepts clear, useful, and human, connecting technical concepts to career growth, leadership, personal resilience, and long-term wealth building. Devon lives in San Jose, California, with his wife and daughter.
