The author is a retired Otolaryngologist (ENT) and Facial Plastic Surgeon. He grew up in a small east-central Georgia town, Warrenton, in the shadow of Augusta, Ga. For the last 60 years he has been enamored with golf and The Masters Tournament. He and his wife live in Greenville, SC in the winter and Cashiers, NC in the summer. They will celebrate 50 years of marriage next July.

He has traveled extensively in the USA and abroad; played 546 different courses, 96 abroad. These experiences have motivated him to share his travel ideas with others. including numerous, humorous stories his travel has generated, all lovingly recorded in his book.

"Golfing Across the Ponds, A Duffer's Perspective" describes travel experiences for golf on premier courses in Scotland, Ireland, England, Europe, The Caribbean, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia. It summarizes the numerous highly ranked courses the author has played. Along the way, the author provides invaluable advice regarding possible itineraries; he provides and intelligent tool for first time golfers traveling across the ponds.

For the last 60 years he has kept an ever expanding list of his favorite courses. Rather than use a strict criteria for this ranking, the only real buzzword is the ‘ambience' the course and club radiate. Certainly reputation, esthetics, conditioning and scenery play a role, but in the end, it is only the opinion of the author on which course to include in this list.

"Golfing across the Ponds, A Duffer's Perspective" is available at numerous pro shops across the southeast, at the author's web site golfacrosstheponds.com and at amazon.com.
