Paul Roth

PAUL was born January 13, 1955, the fourth child of Robert and Kathryn Roth. His father, Bob was an aviation pioneer, holding such jobs as airmail pilot, flying off the roofs of downtown Chicago, helicopter crop duster, and test pilot. After the flying days, Robert became a life insurance salesman, a member of the presidents club. Some of Paul's earliest memories of the success of his father was an all expense paid trip to the World's fair in New York.

Paul grew up with a ball in his hand. From the earliest recorded moments of his life he played sports. At the age of four, his ambition in life was to be a helicopter flying cowboy preacher. Moving to Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, he went to elementary school at Our Redeemer, and High School at Milwaukee Lutheran. He participated in Choir, Football, Wrestling, Editor of the School Newspaper, Key club and school plays. His last leading role in High school was to be Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” until a burst appendix four days before curtain time cut his acting career short.

During his recovery from the burst appendix, a recession left his father looking for a new direction in life. The direction was south, to Texas. Paul followed his parents to South Texas, stayed a year, moved north to Denton Texas, and graduated with honors from North Texas State University. Living in Dallas, a few years after graduation, Paul’s mother got the news that she had lung cancer. The new direction in life had been profitable, and his father had several ventures that needed to be tended to. So Paul moved south to the Corpus Christi area to help with the family businesses, so his father could focus on other things.

During this time, Paul met Angelica Carrillo, a recent graduate of Texas A & I in Kingsville Texas. After a short five year courtship, they were married and had their only child Emily. In the late 90’s Paul had grown a single manufactured housing dealership in South Texas into a chain of four. In 2000, he sold out and was recruited to Marion Illinois by a long time friend and large concern to start up a new venture in Marion, Village Green Homes. A year later, he left due to illness-they got sick of each other.

Leaving the building world to the financial world was a good fit. Initially licensed in something he knew, small business and personal property and casualty insurance, he began getting inquiries for life insurance and annuities with his business clients. These inquiries began the financial journey he shares with his clients to this day.

Winner of Texas state titles in rugby and badminton, and an Illinois state title in tennis Paul’s proudest competitive moment is winning a competition at his daughter Emily’s elementary school on how well the fathers knew their daughters
