John A Hollander

A lawyer in Ottawa, Canada since 1978, John focusses on financial loss and estate cases. As the founder of the Advocacy Club, he has also taken on training and mentoring roles, working with young lawyers in eastern Ontario. The Advocacy Club now has more than 270 members in the Ottawa area, many of whom are quickly becoming leaders in the legal community.

John also teaches law students in trial advocacy at the University of Ottawa's school of common law. He has introduced experiential courses, in which he uses the Advocacy Club methodology to train law students to become junior litigators.

Through publisher Irwin Law, John has written eight handbooks for lawyers on the subjects of interview skills, legal writing, discovery techniques, courtroom skills, mediation, case analysis, examination skills and expert witnesses. For details, go to Irwin Law's website, www.irwinlaw.com.
