ANDREA CANTONE

My name is Andrea Cantone, and I am a writer, teacher, and educator. I grew up in Nigeria, and since then Africa has remained a constant part of my life and of the stories I choose to tell.

I write action, adventure, and historical novels inspired by true events. Each story grows out of extensive research and a desire to bring attention to people, places, and events that often remain outside the Western narrative.

Through fiction, I try to portray Africa beyond stereotypes, without idealizing it or reducing it to the images through which it is so often represented. I am interested in its history, its conflicts, its people, and the contradictions that make it complex.

I have also worked in education for more than twenty years. For me, teaching and writing begin with the same impulse: trying to understand the world more clearly and finding the right words to tell its stories.
