Howard Ibach

Howard Ibach is a writer, educator and former advertising creative director whose work bridges strategy and soul.

He built his reputation helping ad agencies and brands master the creative brief. Today, through his publishing imprint JuJu Books LLC, he focuses on writing memoir, essays, and poetry that turn memory into meaning, and meaning into story.

Howard was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned degrees at the University of Tampa and Brown University. For twenty-six years, he was an advertising copywriter and creative director. He retired to teach literature, composition and critical thinking at Glendale College, LA City College and Pierce College in Los Angeles for six years.

In 2017, he joined the faculty of the Marketing Training and Development Center at the Association of National Advertisers, the world's largest client-side brand trade group headquartered in New York.

He lives in Austin and is at work on a second memoir, a novella, and a series of children's rhyming verse. Howard writes a weekly essay for his Substack newsletter, Remembering Out Loud.
