Jared Buhanan-Decker

Jared Buhanan-Decker lives in St. George, Utah with his son JJ and their cat, Lola. He is a passionate school counselor, a career he began after graduating from the University of Utah in 2012. Outside of work, Jared spends most of his time hiking with JJ in the beautiful red desert of southern Utah. A driving force in Jared's life is to live by the eastern philosophy of Ahimsa, practicing nonviolence towards all living things, while teaching and modeling compassion towards others and active engagement in our world.

Publishing his first book, My Angel Mama, is the realization of a dream Jared and his late wife Sharry shared for many years. With this book, Jared hopes to spread empathy, compassion, and comfort to all who have suffered heartbreaking loss, yet continue to live their lives filled with hope and love.
