Hello! I’m Joyce Roa.
I’ve always loved the written word. I remember spending many of my summer vacations buried in a book when I was a student (well, even during classes, to be honest). I started writing for the campus paper in high school, then took up Mass Communications as my major in college. My first job was as a copywriter for a small ad agency in Cebu City, Philippines. Throughout the years, I have been communications officer, proofreader, writer, editor, or freelancer.
In 2014, my husband and I moved to New Zealand and we have been here since then.
I didn’t think I have it in me to write a book, after all there are so many other writers out there. I had to work on changing my mindset and overcoming my self-limiting beliefs, but finally I was able to write “Live It Great: 12 Real Life Lessons to Help You Create Your Own Happy and Meaningful Life as a Migrant.” Perhaps it needed another country so I could write my own book?
I love to watch movies, and do volunteer work. During my days off from work as an activities coordinator, I love to putter around the kitchen to bake or do some cooking. I also like to travel with my husband. You can connect with me through my website www.joyceroa.com.
