Gary Winters DVM

Dr. Winters graduated from Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He successfully operated 3 small animal veterinary practices and established a veterinary division for the Bangor Maine Humane Society before retiring to pursue a second career as an author. Reviews for his first book, TAILS, include:

"You're sure to laugh out loud and shed some tears when you read this heartwarming book about a young veterinarian's early years of caring for his animal patients and their families. In the spirit of James Herriot, Dr. Winters takes an honest look at the joys and sorrows of his noble profession..."

Nancy Peterson, The Humane Society of the United States

"Gary Winters is a great storyteller. His love of animals, pride in his profession, and sheer joy in living shine through on these pages."
