A Biblical Studies graduate of Evangel University, John Wootton has been an ordained minister for more than 25 years. He has had a front row seat in the life of churches as a parishioner, ministry leader, pastor, and state overseer for the Assemblies of God, one of the fastest growing denominations worldwide. Every day John is involved in some capacity with planting churches, strengthening existing churches, developing leaders and partnering with missions efforts at home and around the world.
Readers of Messaging will have no doubt of John’s reliance on the Word of God. He recalls growing up in a home where allowance money was earned by Scripture reading and memorization. He spent every weekend for many summers as a teen participating at a nearby amphitheater where the life of Christ was dramatized nightly. He committed every word of every verse of 10 New Testament books to memory while in youth group.
It was during his early years as a parent that he grew deeper in love with God’s Word during his successful battle with Hodgkin’s Disease, a cancer of the lymph nodes. Twenty years later, his testimony of healing serves as a continual encouragement and reminder that God’s power and wisdom are in plentiful supply today!
He and his wife, Brigette, are the grateful parents of four outstanding young adults who are the joy of their life. They are both lifelong Ohioans who enjoy rooting on the Buckeyes and every team that plays _ichigan.
