James M. Arcadi
The Revd Dr. James M. Arcadi writes at the intersection of theology, biblical studies, and philosophy. His first book is in Cambridge University Press' Current Issues in Theology series. This book advances an incarnational model of Christ's presence in the Eucharist that is grounded in biblical exegesis, retrieves neglected motifs in the history of the doctrine, and is presented in a philosophically-sophisticated manner. With Oliver D. Crisp and Jordan Wessling, he has authored a book on the nature of analytic theology for Brill, edited a volume of essays on the theology of love for T&T Clark, and edited a book on the theology of prayer for Oxford University Press. With JT Turner, Arcadi has edited the T&T Clark Handbook of Analytic Theology.
An Anglican priest, Arcadi is currently Rector of All Souls Anglican Church in Wheaton, Illino is. Prior to this appointment, he was Associate Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois where he was also a Research Fellow at the Carl F.H. Henry Center for Theological Understanding. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Analytic Theology project at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California from 2015-2018. From 2015-17, he was also a Research Fellow in the Jewish Philosophical Theology project at the Herzl Institute in Jerusalem. He taught theology, history, and writing at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts (2008-2015), where he was also a Visiting Fellow in the Center for Faith and Inquiry (2014-2015).
