For Chris Monte, it all began with that book of flags in elementary school in his hometown of Valhalla, New York. Determined to learn more about the places those little squares of colorful cloth represented, he eventually studied diplomatic history and global politics. But his true passion was always writing stories, particularly tales of high-stakes espionage and ancient puzzles where the path to a better future—always a painful one—is forged.

When Brian Hudson met his friend Chris Monte in graduate school, writing a technothriller was the last thing he ever thought he’d do. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Brian was trained as a biomedical researcher and parlayed that knowledge into a career in pharmaceutical investing and consulting. Brian has discovered to his surprise that his skills and experiences were more suited to the task of plotting stories of international intrigue and tomb-raiding adventure than he ever imagined.
