Virendar Chand, author of THE NRI GUIDE, has been an NRI since 1970. His latest titles are The NRI Handbook 2026, published on May 8, 2026, and Travel India Smart, a handbook released on June 14, 2026. These follow the much-anticipated fourth edition of THE NRI GUIDE, which made its debut on June 1, 2023, seamlessly integrating the most recent changes in rules and regulations and introducing several new topics of paramount interest to the NRI community. Drawing upon his remarkable 50-year journey as an NRI, complemented by holding an OCI for over 15 years, Virendar Chand continues to be an unwavering beacon of knowledge concerning issues that significantly impact non-resident Indians, OCI holders, and Persons of Indian origin who have acquired foreign citizenship.

Following his retirement in 2006, Virendar Chand has taken up the mantle as the administrator of two websites. The first, NRI Information, is a dedicated resource that offers invaluable tips and information to non-resident Indians residing across the globe. His frequent and extended sojourns to India, coupled with his first-hand experiences as an NRI and OCI holder spanning several decades, position him as a preeminent source of wisdom. Presently, he resides in North America, overseeing the second website, Travel India Smart. This platform provides tourists visiting India with comprehensive information and helpful tips for a memorable journey.
