Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers

Born in the coastal city of Brunswick, Georgia, Cherry Dawn Langley Chambers spent her youth traveling with her parents, Sam A Langley (Lt. Col., Ret.), an officer in the United States Army, and her mother, Ivene Kate Harrison Langley, a poet and active homemaker. For sixteen years, her family moved from one military assignment to another across three continents, and, "Our home went with us in boxes!"

From Germany to Thailand and California to Georgia, Cherry Dawn experienced diverse cultures and a myriad of lifestyles prompting her to observe, "my education was casual, but continuous; formal schooling was just an added benefit. Life as an Army brat teaches Adaptation and the ability to be flexible about everything."

Known by her fans and friends for enthusiastically embracing opportunities to assist in her community, Cherry Dawn is a member of St Mark's Episcopal Church in Brunswick, GA.

Despite more than a full year without being able to enjoy line-dance and ball-room dance (thanks to covid), she was able to complete her third novel, Always Visions, while anxiously hoping for a return to normalcy.

While developing the All Her Visions series, the author discovered her characters were taking on lives of their own. She says her office is always filled with interesting characters who vie for her attention, and adds, "So how can I go wrong by telling their stories?"

Dark Shadows of Light introduced her favored setting of southeast Georgia and was quickly followed by Always Visions, the first book in a series titled All Her Visions. This novel features a teenage girl's struggles to find normalcy in her life. Lasting Visions (Book Two) follows Jessie's growth and efforts to overcome survivor's guilt while providing an expanded view of several supporting characters. The third Visions' novel, Haunting Visions, was followed by Shifting Visions in 2023. A stand-alone companion piece titled Quill & Feathers saw publication in 2024, and the sequel, Quill and Ink was released in 2025 along with her second children's book, Some Dragons. Her newest children's book, Scales and Tales, was released in January of 2026.

Publishing a novel every year and three illustrated children's books, the authors' published works has grown to eleven. She is currently working on the third novel in the Quills series and expects to complete is in September, 2026.

Her work has garnered recognition in numerous places starting when her first piece of poetry was published in Georgia's Coastal Illustrated magazine in 1973 making her dream to be published a happy reality.

Since producing her first book of verse, Dreamtime, in 1979, Cherry Dawn expanded her writing to include short stories and non-fiction with one piece receiving national attention in Readers Review. In 1989 her article, “Brantley County’s Lure: The Satilla River,” was featured in a two-page spread in Rural Georgia magazine. She has since published eleven books, seven of which are novels.

Expressing a strong belief that life is about the journey, not the destination, Cherry Dawn is spiritually committed to being an uplifting presence in the lives of people with whom she interacts, and to using her skills and talent in service to others. She enjoys the mentoring process and teaching writing workshops and is especially fond of participating in book readings.
