Kat Theo

Kat Theo did not start off like many other writers out there. Diagnosed with dyslexia at a very early age, she despised reading and avoided it at all costs. However, that never stopped her imagination from creating the most vivid stories in her spare time.

Born in California, she spent most of her adolescent years traveling around the world with her mother and brother until she finally settled down in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Very lost in her fairy tales and life on the road, it was not until she met her sixth grade teacher that instilled the growth mindset into her everyday life that changed everything.

Mrs. Oliver believed in her lost student and refused to see all of Kat's potential go down the drain. Since then, Ms. Oliver has inspired Kat to believe in herself and to truly enjoy the challenge of learning new things.

After graduating at the top of her class, Kat Theo decided to become an English teacher and continue to inspire young learners to push through their difficulties and dream BIG!

When her students' curiosity about hair, skin and eating habits was always a topic in her class, she was inspired by them to share other lifestyles in a fun and interesting way through a picture book.
