Dr. T. 'Gus' Gustafson

Dr. T. ‘Gus’ Gustafson is a pediatrician who obtained his medical degree at the University of California in San Francisco. He spent three months in Bangladesh on an International Health assignment before returning to complete his pediatric residency at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

His first career was in public health, investigating disease outbreaks for the Centers for Disease Control and the Texas State Health Department. After joining the computer revolution in the 1980’s he began a second career writing software for epidemiology and biostatistics. Finally, he founded a software company that focused on preventing hospital-acquired infections and monitoring hospital employee health.

After 25 years in the healthcare computing business, seeing a daughter through veterinary school and a son through medical school, Dr. Gustafson and his wife retired to write and travel full-time in their RV.
