George S Coyne

George S. Coyne is a Canadian science communicator, philosopher, author, educator and counselor. He is a unique writer on theoretical physics, consciousness research and cosmology. Coyne was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 2, 1952. He moved to Vancouver, B.C in 1972. He has had a deep interest in physics and cosmology since middle childhood. Since the late 1960s he has been fascinated by the topics written about in Notfinity Process. In 1981, he became interested in physicist David Bohm’s realistic and deterministic interpretation of quantum mechanics. In 2014, he began contributing blogs to thescientificworldview.blogspot.ca on theoretical physics and cosmology topics.

He heads the Vancouver regional office of the Progressive Science Institute, and is on the board of directors of the Chappell Natural Philosophy Society (CNPS), a scientific group dedicated to the philosophical study of nature and the physical universe. His July 22, 2017 consciousness paper, presented to the CNPS international conference at UBC, was well-received by those physicists, cosmologists, computer scientists and consciousness researchers in attendance. By September 2020 it had over 3,000 Facebook views at www.facebook.com/watch/live/?v=1924915001087542&ref=watch_permalink

Retired B.C Supreme Justice Duncan W. Shaw, who now is an author of physics papers, stated: “George Coyne is an original thinker who engages his readers with remarkable clarity and insight." While participating at the 2017 3-day David Bohm Centennial Symposium in London, England, he had the opportunity to interact with, listen to and ask questions of 37 of world’s leading theoretical physicists.

In Notfinity Process: Matter-In-Motion 2nd edition (2021), he critiques relativity theory, the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics, and the Big Bang theory, while promoting alternative models that do not contain paradoxes or contradictions. He also writes about a new paradigm for consciousness, which does not require anything other than brain functioning. Recognizing the dangers inherent in becoming emotionally invested in any theory, he works at remaining as objective as possible about the theories presented in Notfinity Process.

Coyne agrees with philosopher Nicholas Maxwell's argument that science and philosophy need to be reunited into a modern version of natural philosophy.
