Dave Lager

Dave Lager is the award-winning author of the Ro Delahanty Thriller/ Suspense Series. Ro’s Handle is the first Ro Delahanty novel; Hear Evil is number two; the third is Loses; the fourth is Secrets Never End; the fifth is Sniper’s Day. Book six, Revelations, was released in the spring of 2024. And he is busy writing number seven, Mourning Dove, with a projected 2025 publication.

The pen name, Dave Lager, is actually a derivative of a pet name used for her brother by his real life sister, not unlike Ro's special name for Tuck, her brother.

Theoretically, Dave is the author of the Ro Delahanty novels. However, it feels more like he is the one transcribing as Ro dictates to him her story of finding herself in dangerous situations and discovering what it means to be a cop and a warrior. In fact, she is not at all reluctant about waking him up in the middle of the night with an idea for a new chapter.

Ro’s Handle, Hear Evil, Losses, and Secrets Never End won First Place in the Thriller / Suspense Series category at the 2023 Chanticleer International Book Awards (CIBA) competition. Sniper’s Day was a finalist for Best Thriller / Suspense Novel.

Dave made his career in journalism and marketing and has previously published several books for the small business market under his given name, Dave Ramacitti.

Now in his eighth decade, he is supposedly retired, except Ro won’t leave him alone, demanding that her story be told. He has been married to his best friend for more than 30 years and has three grown stepchildren and seven step-grandchildren. He lives next to the Mississippi River in Rock Island, Illinois, along with a grumpy cat and a Yorkie mix that’s 80% cute and 20% brat.
