Pamela Baxter

Pamela Baxter has been exploring the outdoors since she was a child growing up in Connecticut, with Sleeping Giant State Park practically in her backyard. Not surprisingly, she instinctively turns to the natural world for inspiration.

Since 1999 Pamela has written a weekly garden column for the regional newspapers in the Greater Philadelphia, PA area, with an emphasis on home vegetable growing, sustainability, gardening for wildlife, and using native plants. She has also written articles for The American Gardener magazine, contributed to The Philadelphia Inquirer, and for 24 years was the editor of the award-winning newsletter of the Valley Forge Audubon Society.

A cellist, Pamela teaches privately and performs with a local orchestra and a string quartet. She also enjoys exploring our national parks, hiking, and cooking with the vegetables that come out of her organic garden in southeastern Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband Charlie.
