Clifford Thompson

Clifford Thompson is a writer, journalist and former London firefighter. He has worked in television news for the BBC for more than 20 years. He has a Diploma of Higher Education in psychology, from the University of East London; and a BA (hons) in humanities from Birkbeck University of London. In 2012 he graduated from City University of London's MA programme in narrative non-fiction writing with a distinction.

In 2014 he was awarded a short scholarship from the Norman Mailer Center in the United States to study creative non-fiction at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City the setting for Mailer's Pulitzer Prize winning book The Executioner's Song.
