David Dwyer

The middle of five children, David Dwyer was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended St. Thomas Academy and the University of Minnesota.

Growing up, Dwyer fished with his family on a famous Walleye lake in Northern Minnesota. The rustic resort lodge was filled with furniture handcrafted by German soldiers imprisoned at a nearby encampment during World War II. His brothers recall Dwyer often lounging on the POW furniture and wondering aloud about its history.

Over time, he developed a deep curiosity and distant connection with the forgotten men who built it forty years earlier.

His fascination with the Second World War, and what the Germans experienced to reach the remote Minnesota wilderness, was born and bred. The story of the POW furniture evolved with study and imagination.

Dwyer’s inspiration to write comes from great historical fiction authors. His motivation is owed to renowned author, Vince Flynn. Dwyer and Vince attended the same high school and remained family friends. Vince encouraged his many friends like Dwyer to write.

When he’s not writing or working, David coaches youth sports, cheers on the local sports teams, and enjoys all that Minnesota offers. Blessed with a great family and many loyal friends, he continues to reside in the western suburbs of Minneapolis.
