Colin Clark

Although Pastor Clark spent his pre-ministerial years enjoying all the secular fruits that came from his own labors, he began to realize that he was in a gene pool that was competing for the same rewards as everyone else. Rat race is an accurate description! He saw the human condition as broken, yet periodically buoyed by earthly gains that quickly vanish.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire, Clark went on to play semi-pro hockey in Montreal while attaining a Canadian CPA from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. This degree led him across the world where he mingled with Europeans, Asians, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims and those of the Shinto faith. He saw in all peoples, the common denominator of struggle; life being lived one day at a time; the concept of hope, tenuous. The realities of life were too full of 'today' to allow hope for 'tomorrow'. Secularism was ever-present; spirituality, common but without deep expectations.

Watching people pray day after day without results deeply troubled him and led him on a journey to confront God about the deafening silence that followed so many petitions.

Licensed in 2008, Pastor Clark after four years of pulpit ministry, bible studies, visits to shut-ins and leading worship in his church finally arrived on the path that resulted in him writing 'Jesus Wept'. The book was penned because of an innocent deacon meeting that produced a prayer (from a very senior member of his church) that started like this: "Dear God, we know Robert will never get any better..." Clark's response: Why? Why do we learn all about countless healings in the New Testament if healing isn't available for us? Why aren't we prosperous? Why don't we have the joy the Bible talks about? Why did Christ suffer on the cross if we are going to suffer here on earth? Does God owe Christ an apology? Perhaps the most important truth God showed him was this: Prayer is more about receiving, than asking. Think about that.

His book 'Jesus Wept' will bring unbridled hope to your life as you discover how much God loves you. As Mozart wrote, "Remember Merciful Lord Jesus, I am the reason for your journey."
