I'm GRUMP, (aka Steve Williams) a 'harf' British/'haff' American businessman and writer.
I grew up on Merseyside in UK but have lived in NY and Florida for over half my years on this mortal coil. I eke a living from traveling the world as a Director of a NY-based IT company. We operate in what they call the ‘financial space’. It doesn’t sound like fun, does it? But sad to say, I love what I do.
All my life I’ve written books and articles about business. How interesting is that? (My wife says I always use the same few hundred words just putting them in a different order to freshen them up. But that’s just what wives are supposed to say).
Until recently. Then I decided to break away and create a little book about my travel experiences in various parts of the world. I started with ‘Grump’s Guide to London’. It’s my first non-business book. It'll be No.1 in a series which will cover (for Brits) New York and Florida as well as, for the outdoorsy crowd, the English Countryside.
My goal is to mix really useful knowledge with amusing anecdotes. That way, I can provide visitors with insights and tips about what to expect in unfamiliar surroundings. More important, I want to guarantee them a fun trip and not end up exhausted, sighing ‘when are we going home?’
Along with your toothbrush and deodorant stick (provided it’s not confiscated by TSA), I hope my Guides will be essential travel items.
