Need a New Job? START HERE! is a strategic book written in a friendly, conversational tone. With great respect for the French philosopher Blaise Pascal, I did eight edits/rewrites to boil 40 years of corporate and consulting experience into less than 200 pages. My mission was to make the book highly readable. And to guide job seekers through a process from self-reflection to landing the right job for them in a company that offers a great chance to excel and grow. My audience is primarily out-of-work professionals and the millions of underemployed professionals and executives who say they are unhappy in their current jobs or companies.

I get them to re-think their situations and understand why they are unhappy or out of work. Then develop a meaningful plan of action to lift themselves into a situation that restores pride, confidence, security, income, admiration of family and friends and whatever else they need to rebuild. One caveat: I do not do the work for them. No resume writing, particularly. I teach them to develop a strategy and write for a specific company and job. My premise parallels the old Chinese saying: Give a man a fish and he can eat today; teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime. The concepts I present can work within their companies and in the job market.

I supplement the book with individualized and group counseling, retained executive search, and writing assignments for both individuals and companies.
