J. B. M. Patrick

J. B. M. Patrick (born 1994 to two wonderful parents) pursued certification as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician and passed his practical exams before deciding that he'd enlist in the United States Army. After enlisting, he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. From there, he learned how to rappel, graduated Air Assault School, and was placed in a series of Intelligence Support Courses, which included: Biometrics, Signals Intelligence, Operation of Robotic Surveillance Systems, and Site Exploitation Training involving the identification of IEDs.

During a field operation three years ago, J. B. M. Patrick was selected as part of the rotation for a kitchen detail. If he managed to get out of it, he planned on writing the outline for Angelos Odyssey. He asked his superior officer if he could complete a set number of push-ups in exchange for his freedom from the detail and swore that he could perform 1,000. He performed 842, someone else was given the detail, and J. B. M. wrote the beginnings of the epic the following day.
