Debbie Loesel Stanton

Debbie Loesel Stanton, who was born in Michigan and has lived in Minnesota for most of her life, has always loved to write. At age seven she wrote in the covers of a Bobbsey Twins book all the things she was thankful for, and wrote 27 pages of a book when she was 12. When she moved to Minnesota, she wrote a newsletter, complete with newspaper-type columns, back home to her friends and relatives about her experiences.

If asked what she would have with her on a stranded desert island, she would say "books." It's the love of the written word and the imagination it inspires that draws her to read more and more -- and write more and more!

With every passing year, Debbie kept saying, "I'm sure I could write a book, too." Her wish remained even through breast cancer, which she discovered in 2009. After cancer recovery, she knew what book she wanted to write: a book that would help people to understand that with early detection, receiving a cancer diagnosis isn't necessarily a death sentence.

An encouraging person who loves God, people, animals, and nature, Debbie did write that book and hopes that it can help many. She has also written some blogs and wrote many stories -- always with a positive feel to them. She has written a children's story book and has a novel already written in her head -- and wants that out there, too. Poetry is also a favorite of hers.
