Ron Schutz grew up in New Jersey close to New York City. He attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, NJ, which prepared him for the rigors of the academic challenges he would face at the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. After having been trained in problem-solving techniques as an engineer and receiving a commission in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Ron pursued his passion in banking and finance by completing his Masters of Business Administration at NYU.
His first two books, Financial Truths for the 21st Century (2000) and Beyond Majority Thinking (2002) were directed to the consumer of financial services. Beyond Majority Thinking was written in a story format, sharing the story of various family and lifestyle financial challenges. Now, after a half-century immersed in the financial world, he relives his challenges through Sasha’s struggles and Victor’s life experiences in American Fathers (2017). He continues to use fictional characters to share his insights into the world of a start-up entrepreneur. This is a parable and tale of intrigue to engage the reader in how the story will unfold.
Ron consults with business owners and their key profit makers to help them realize their full financial potential. He has a natural tendency to develop strategies and see workable solutions in preparing companies for transition.
He lives in Houston, TX, with his wife Gail. Together, they have four children and three grandchildren. Working in small groups within their church community occupies much of their free time. Ron is also a trained Stephen Minister, a lay caring ministry that provides one-on-one support for people working through a crisis. www.stephenministry.org
