Dinesh Rajan

Dinesh is a Teaching Assistant in Department of Fish Pathology at Fisheries College and Research Institute since 2016. He undertakes different courses for undergraduate students that are offered by the department and once in a while delivers some guest lectures to postgraduate students.

Dinesh completed his Master’s degree in Fisheries science with a focus in Aquaculture at Central Institute of Fisheries Education and his undergraduate studies at Tamil Nadu Fisheries University. He was awarded “Best Fisheries Graduate of India - Dr. E.G. Silas Award ” for the year 2013 by Professional Fisheries Graduates Forum (PFGF) in the 10th Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture Forum (10th ifaf). His research interests lie in the area of breeding and culture aspects of different finfishes and shellfishes, fish and shellfish nutrition and health management ranging from theory to practical exercises. In recent years, he has focused on better techniques for disease treatment and drug discovery. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines of fisheries science, particularly fish nutrition, physiology and biochemistry and aquatic animal health management.

Dinesh provides different extension services to fish and shrimp farmers on the basis of probono consulting. Also, he’s a member of different professional and academic societies.

Dinesh lives with his parents and fishes on the streets of India. Prior to becoming a teaching assistant, Dinesh enjoyed playing different sports and games, swimming, trekking, sea exploration, and enjoying good food, and playing music.

Dinesh has never had a cavity.
