Constance Plumley

An avid reader and writer from an early age, words saved my life. My first book "Translation" was written over the space of a few years and explores love, loss, and longing. I am fascinated by the Japanese concept of "Mono no aware", or sadness at the passing of things. I believe those irretrievable moments are the most beautiful because they are fleeting--I try to capture that mix of desire and memory in my work. I also write short stories and hope to publish those more often in the future.

My latest book is a memoir titled "Give Me Your Hands: A Friendship Between Two Writers." It explores the years of my extraordinary friendship with the Tidal Wave that was a man, a student, a twin flame, and dear friend by the name of Paul Rogov. It is a novelette that is divided into short sections, flashes of memory. It is a tribute to the most fascinating person I have ever known, and I would be honored to have you get to know him as well.

Here is some Advanced Praise For "Hands"

"Constance Plumley is Vox Populi, Vox Dei. Humane and discerning voices are needed now more than ever and Plumley is as crucial as it gets – a vital organ in the body of a battered world. Her words are alive, a strong and steady pulse ready to heal with love and light, with gratitude and remembrance – welcoming all who seek literary salvation." Dr. Rhonda Baughman, editor "Medium Chill"

"A searing tale of madness, creativity, and love, and above all, of the pain and beauty that result when the three co-exist. Constance Plumley doesn’t flinch from the destructive aspects of mental illness, but her honesty rewards us with a multi-dimensional, compassionate portrait of a wonderful human being. Brave and wrenching." Cynthia Gralla, author of "The Floating World"

Currently in the works is a YA novel about a twin brother and sister separated by divorce and distance who communicate via a paper journal they send back and forth. My most recent publication is Dr. Rhonda Baughman's experimental lit magazine "Medium Chll", also available here on Amazon. Do check it out, as well as Cynthia Gralla's beautiful debut novel.
