Jessica Spengler

Jessica Spengler is a German-English translator specializing in the humanities and social sciences, with a particular focus on 20th-century German history. In addition to translating non-fiction books for individual authors and publishers, she regularly works with various foundations, educational institutions, and concentration camp memorials in Germany.

She was born in America, lived and studied in Germany for 14 years, and currently resides in the UK. She has a bachelor’s degree in German Studies from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Sussex in England.

Jessica is a member of the American Translators Association (ATA) and the Translators Association (TA) of the Society of Authors in the UK. She is also a founding member of the Brighton Language Collective, an independent group of language professionals working in Brighton, England.
