Trailblazers is my first novel as the book's bio says. It acknowledges that Able Goodman is my pen name. I wish I could give you my real name, but I don't want to burden others who would be identified. For example, the dedication is: For my step son and his partner. Their twenty-year relationship shows that love is love. They like the dedication, but neither they nor characters in the book who might be associated with real people, want to be identified. The book's bio also says that this novel and others I am writing are based on my experience as a student, parent, grandparent, professor, and retiree who walks proudly in National LBGTQ Equality Marches. Characters in my novel follow my path from a working-class cancer survivor to a successful professor. I wrote textbook stories as entertainment for education's sake. My goal is to write engaging-realistic novels as entertainment for entertainment's sake.
